Ram Mandir
The Ram Mandir in Lonavala was founded in 1740 near Dr. Ambedkar Garden in Bhangarwadi by Mr. Mountstuart Elphinstone, the former Governor of the Bombay British Presidency. Recognising the absence of nearby temples for the local population, he built this temple as a place of worship. Elphinstone, who was the first to ascend the mountain and explore Lonavala, established a site that continues to hold deep meaning for the community today.
